Hangar d'Amour is the central location for window prostitution and sex work in Ostend, Belgium. The sex work premises are situated on Stapelhuisstraat inside the fully restored Hangar 1, a protected historic harbour building close to Ostend harbour and railway station. After several years of planning, construction and restoration, Hangar d'Amour officially became operational in August 2026. It replaces the former Hazegras red-light district, where the prostitution windows permanently closed as part of the neighbourhood's redevelopment. Hangar d'Amour contains 36 purpose-built rooms which are rented directly to sex workers. The rooms have alarm systems and a permanent caretaker is present in the building. By bringing Ostend's window prostitution together at one location, the project aims to provide sex workers with a safer, better-controlled and more dignified working environment.
